Mozilla x Fondation Abeona x AI and Society Institute: Unlocking the benefits of openness in AI

📆 9 October 2024, 18:30 - 19:30, École Normale Supérieure, 45 rue d’Ulm, 75005 Paris

Event Overview

On February 10 and 11, 2025, France will host the International AI Action Summit, bringing together policymakers, regulators, and AI leaders from around the world. One of the key topics on the summit’s agenda will be openness—a vital component for fostering economic growth, building trust, and ensuring transparency in AI.

As opinions differ on the value of openness in AI and how a pro-open regulatory framework should be structured, this panel will explore critical questions: How does AI model development differ from traditional software development, and how should this be reflected in new policies? What are the most effective strategies for harnessing the benefits of openness in AI? And what role can the upcoming Paris AI Action Summit play in shaping this future?

Mozilla and Fondation Abeona together with the AI and Society Institute are
pleased to invite you to a high-level panel discussion featuring:

• Mitchell Baker, Executive Chairwoman, Mozilla
• Arthur Mensch, Co-founder and CEO, Mistral AI
• Anne Bouverot, Special Envoy, AI Action Summit

In conversation with Gilles Gressani, Director of Le Grand Continent.
